Jane is a London-based professional trombone player who enjoys work as a performer, educator and writer.
Recent theatre engagements include FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS and ME AND MY GIRL at Chichester Festival Theatre, BARNUM and SHE LOVES ME at the Menier Chocolate Factory with deputy work on the West End production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (previously Menier), CFT’s OKLAHOMA!, National Theatre’s FOLLIES and FOLLIES REVIVAL and the UK Tour of WONDERLAND.
Ongoing orchestral engagements include the London Concert Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Novello Orchestra, Worthing Symphony Orchestra, Multi-Story Orchestra, Southern Pro Musica, Parallax Orchestra, Phaedra Ensemble, Orpheus Sinfonia and various other professional ensembles.
Education is at the heart of Jane’s work and she has been invited to collaborate in projects with the Royal Opera House’s Learning & Participation department, London Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Discovery’ and Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
Jane is the trombone and low brass specialist at St Paul’s Cathedral School, London’s Centre for Young Musicians (CYM), Guildford High School, Royal Grammar School, Guildford and Guildford School of Acting.
Jane is a graduate of the Guildhall School where she studied with Eric Crees, Simon Wills, John Kenny, Emily White, Chris Houlding, Peter Gane and Dave Stewart. Following her studies, Jane was awarded a Guildhall Artist Fellowship for 2015-17 where she continued to contribute to the school.
Jane is both a committee member of the British Trombone Society and the current Commissioning Editor for their magazine, The Trombonist.
